Car people. Detail people.
Founded by Kyle Welch and Matt Downs, Mad River Detailing brings careful paint care and hands-on automotive experience to Winsted.
The people behind the finish.
Kyle Welch & Matt Downs
Co-founders and lead detailers, each with more than 20 years of detailing experience—bringing 40+ years of combined experience to Mad River. Their shared background at Detail Garage and enthusiasm for maintaining their own vehicles shaped the approach at Mad River: inspect carefully, explain the work, and take the preparation seriously.
The shop serves everyday drivers, enthusiasts, and owners who want a more refined finish. Every recommendation begins with the vehicle’s condition and the result its owner wants.
